Position Information


This is an opportunity to join an established and respected Low and Net Zero Carbon Consultancy, with over 30 years of experience working with the UK Government and associated large funding bodies. We are looking to recruit qualified Energy and Carbon Reduction Auditor/ Engineers to join our busy and expanding organisation.  As part of a team, you will primarily be responsible for the delivery of our energy efficiency review projects in the Black Country, Staffordshire, Shropshire, and Worcestershire. Progressing to identifying, designing, and implementing low – to net carbon strategies for clients mainly in the manufacturing sector.

There is scope for Office and flexible home working as a base from which to visit client sites. You will need to visit the office in Rugby, for training, team building, and essential meetings. The ideal candidate will therefore be in located the West Midlands. 

Starting Salary Range: Depending on age, qualifications and experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct energy efficiency reviews at our client's sites
  • Collecting and analysing relevant energy data
  • Write and deliver energy audit reports that demonstrate a high level of technical awareness of energy engineering and efficiency services, energy management and low/net-zero carbon strategies with cost-effective technical solutions that increase the operational and energy efficiency levels of the client. 
  • Developing net zero carbon and cost reduction strategies for the manufacturing sector
  • The preparation of quotations, presenting concepts and upselling of Pro Enviro services to existing and potential clients.
  • Project management of the installation of engineering solutions including procurement and management of sub-contractors. The project proposals could include process optimisation strategies, Low and net-zero carbon strategies, renewable and low carbon technologies such as solar arrays, biomass, and CHP plant. They also could include energy efficient ancillary equipment solutions such as lighting, heating, compressed air generation and distribution systems, Power Factor Correction and inverter drive technologies for extraction systems and pumps.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in the energy and environmental regulatory framework. 

Further responsibilities includes, but is not limited to:

  • Developing relationships with customers, providing technical support on current systems and future low/net-zero carbon solutions
  • Working on projects covering all aspects of industrial and commercial energy use, energy savings and CO2 emission reduction. Identifying carbon reduction projects and developing and presenting business cases to support the implementation of the projects. 
  • Managing reporting for clients involved in the Climate Change Agreements (CCA), Energy & Carbon Reduction and Carbon Disclosure etc.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Ability to meet targets and deadlines.
  • Highly professional and adaptable communications skills – you will need to engage with clients and prospects at board level.
  • Outstanding presentation skills to technical and management teams.
  • Excellent technical report and proposal writing skills.
  • The ability to liaise with technical and administrative support teams to ensure the best solutions are identified, sold, and delivered.
  • Self-motivation with a strong drive to attain targets.
  • A team player with strong social skills
  • A background in engineering with a sound knowledge of energy management products for manufacturing processes and facilities
  • Experience in design and project management of the installation of low–net zero carbon technologies and solutions.
  • Knowledge of ESOS, ISO50001, and compliance such as CCA (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems (EMS) (desirable)
  • Own car and clean UK driving license. Business mileage and mobile phone expenses are covered.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in designing energy efficient and renewable ancillary equipment solutions
  • Knowledge of ESOS, ISO50001 and SERC

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree in a relevant subject (e.g Renewable Energy Engineering, Engineering, Geography, Maths, Sciences). Must be Grade 2:1 or above
  • UK Drivers License
