The Business Energy Advice Service (BEAS) is a pilot programme designed to help businesses save money and drive growth by providing free comprehensive energy assessment report.

What does the programme offer?

Through this programme, you will receive a FREE of charge Energy Audit, which includes an analysis of the energy used in your buildings, industrial processes, and operations through an onsite survey followed by a comprehensive report which aims to:

Identify cost-effective energy-saving measures.
Provide impartial recommendations for replacing existing energy-consuming processes, as well as building fabric, systems, and equipment.
Help you to gain a better understanding of your carbon emissions.
Set you on the path towards Net Zero.

Energy-intensive manufacturers (energy consumption in excess of 750,000 kWh per annum) can receive additional support for process improvement through energy efficiency and help to fully understand the main drivers of energy consumption in relation to production processes.

The report could include an impartial assessment of replacing or installing (not limited to):

Heating (replacement boilers, burners, heat pumps)

This independent report will be required for any grant funding available through Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Birmingham & Solihull, Coventry, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Marches, and Staffordshire in the next financial year 2026/27.

BEAS Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the BEAS programme, users must have an annual energy minimum gas/electricity consumption of 25,000 kWh.

Businesses must meet the following requirements:

Must classify as an SME - Have fewer than 250 employees and a turnover less than £42 million, or balance sheet total less than £36 million.
Have an annual energy consumption of at least 25,000 kWh
Be commercial entity/profit-seeking enterprise
Operate from a commercial address for at least 12 months
Responsible for paying the business's energy bills
