After successfully delivering over 95 reviews to Energy Intensive Manufacturers in the Business Energy Advice Service (BEAS) programme from 2023- March 2025, Pro Enviro is the main delivery partner for 2025/2026.
Energy intensive is defined as a minimum annual consumption of 750,000kWh.
Open to SMEs in Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Birmingham & Solihull, Coventry, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Marches, Staffordshire.
What does the programme offer?
The programme provides a comprehensive energy audit which will help gain a better understanding of how energy is used, identify cost-effective energy saving measures, help embed a low carbon strategy, set a path towards net-zero and gain access to match funded grant up to £100,000 to implement energy saving projects – no payback required.
The comprehensive energy audit and report includes:
A Review of the manufacturing facility, plant, and machinery to identify the main drivers of consumption.
An analyse of energy consumption patterns in relation to the facility and production processes.
The Identification of any nonproductive load.
The energy consumption of up to 5 items of plant and machinery can be recorded and analysed using temporary meters.
An independent analysis of the carbon and cost savings of energy efficiency energy projects.
Grant Funding:
After you receive your audit, you can apply for up to £100,000 – 50% match funding towards energy efficiency projects identified in the report.

*Solar PV – maximum grant £50,000 or 50% of cost whichever is the smaller.
Eligibility criteria
To qualify for the BEAS programme, as an energy intensive company, applicants must:
Qualify as an SME -
250 full-time employees, turnover less than £42 million or a balance sheet less than £36 million)
Have an annual energy consumption of over 750,000 kWh*
Be responsible for paying business’s energy bills
Be a commercial entity / profit-seeking enterprise
Operate a commercial address for at least 12 months
