Achieving SBTi accreditation strengthens Pro Enviro’s role as a trusted partner in supporting clients in reducing emissions, improving energy efficiency, and transitioning toward a net-zero future. For many years, we have supported organisations across energy-intensive industries to reduce energy use, cut carbon emissions, and improve operational efficiency. Securing our own SBTi accreditation was a natural next step.  Ensuring that the standards we advocate for our clients are fully embedded within our own business.

Why We Pursued SBTi Accreditation

As a company dedicated to decarbonisation, we believe credibility matters. Climate commitments must be more than aspirational statements they must be validated, transparent, and aligned with the science required to limit global warming to 1.5°C.

By pursuing SBTi accreditation, we committed to:

• Setting emissions-reduction targets that are aligned with the latest climate science
• Taking responsibility for our Scope 1, Scope 2, and relevant Scope 3 emissions
• Embedding accountability and long-term governance into our sustainability strategy
• Demonstrating leadership by holding ourselves to the same standards we support our clients to achieve

This process ensured our climate strategy is both robust and credible.

The Journey to Accreditation

Establishing Our Emissions Baseline

We began by carrying out a comprehensive assessment of our carbon footprint, analysing emissions across our operations, energy use, business travel, and supply chain. Establishing a reliable baseline was critical to understanding where our greatest impacts lie and where meaningful reductions could be achieved.

Using SBTi methodologies, we developed emissions-reduction targets that align with the 1.5°C pathway. These targets were then submitted to SBTi for independent validation, which is a rigorous process designed to ensure targets are both ambitious and achievable.

Embedding Reduction Measures

To support our targets, we have implemented and committed to a range of actions, including:

• Improving energy efficiency across our operations
• Transitioning toward lower-carbon energy sources
• Optimising business travel and operational processes
• Engaging with suppliers to address Scope 3 emissions
• Integrating carbon reduction into decision-making and governance

These actions reflect our belief that real decarbonisation is delivered through operational change, not offset-led solutions.

What This Achievement Means

Achieving SBTi accreditation is an important validation of our approach. It confirms that our emissions-reduction targets are aligned with climate science and recognised by one of the world’s most respected climate initiatives.
