Syspal have worked with Pro Enviro for approaching ten years. In addition to assisting with the creation of our decarbonisation strategy and setting up our ECP (Energy and Carbon Portal), they have assisted us in making significant reductions in our energy usage, despite significant growth during the same period.
By way of example, in 2017 our electricity consumption was in the region of 1.23 MWh on one 110,000 square foot site. In the last twelve months the consumption across both our sites (with a combined total of 170,000 square feet) was 751,000 kWh, a reduction of circa 40%, whilst the business turnover has increased 32%.
This has been achieved through a variety of projects with Pro Enviro, including machine level energy metering, which identified equipment which was particularly energy intensive (and therefore replaced with more efficient equipment), and the assistance of Pro Enviro in obtaining a grant for additional equipment, through which we were able to terminate the night shift which had been identified as highly energy inefficient. Having access to the knowledge and specialist expertise of the Pro Enviro team has assisted us significantly in decarbonising the business during a period of growth, by identifying areas where gains could best be made, and then by helping obtain funding to support the identified improvements.
