The Black Country Cluster is distinctive amongst all UK clusters. It is not only the largest, but it is also the only non-coastal cluster, spreading deep into the urban areas surrounding it. Industry across the Black Country is so integrated into residential areas making it challenging to manage industrial and domestic energy demand separately.

Read MoreThe Worcestershire, Shropshire, and Herefordshire Business Energy Efficiency Programme (BEEP) was a European Regional Development Funded project that supported eligible business to become more resource efficient. BEEP could have provide grants of up to 40% of the total cost of a project, to the maximum contribution of £20,000, for businesses to improve their energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions based on the recommendations from a free site visit that identified where carbon and energy reductions can be made. Qualifying businesses were situated in and trading from Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire or Telford & Wrekin.

REBiz was supported by the European Regional Development Fund and the Northern Powerhouse Growth Deal. Through the REBiz programme, eligible businesses could have received advice and financial support to become more resource efficient. We also helped businesses to develop circular economy business models and practices, helping them keep products and materials in use, by design, for as long as possible to get the maximum value from them.
