Businesses and the Energy Sector 2025

Ofgem has released its Businesses and the Energy Sector 2025 survey, offering a valuable snapshot of how UK organisations are experiencing the energy market.

Key findings include:

  • Supplier satisfaction has risen to 68%, up from 62% in 2024.
  • 70% of businesses are managing bills without difficulty, though a significant minority still face challenges.
  • 57% feel they are treated fairly by their supplier, with dissatisfaction linked to unexpected charges, unclear tariff changes and slow issue resolution.
  • 29% switched supplier in the past year, and three‑quarters found the process straightforward.
  • 35% used a broker, with 72% reporting a positive experience.

Barriers to decarbonisation are falling — 41% now report none, up from 27% last year. Where barriers remain, cost is the dominant factor.

Responding to the survey’s findings, Managing Director Nersi Salehi says:

“For many organisations, the biggest opportunities lie not just in navigating the market, but in reducing consumption, improving process efficiency and building a credible, cost‑effective route to decarbonisation.

That’s where Pro Enviro focuses its support. With more than 30 years of engineering and optimisation expertise - and digital tools developed in‑house - we help businesses cut waste, strengthen resilience and make informed investment decisions that reduce both cost and carbon.”

If you’re reviewing your energy strategy for the year ahead, we’d be glad to support your thinking.
