How the numbers work

The financial case for solar rests on self-consumption - the proportion of generated electricity used on-site rather than exported. For manufacturers with strong daytime demand, self-consumption rates of 85 to 95% are typical. At current electricity prices, a well-matched system can achieve payback in four to six years and deliver significant returns over its 25-year operating life.

Is solar right for your site?

Solar PV works best for sites where electricity demand is concentrated in daytime hours. Manufacturing operations that run standard day shifts are typically well matched. Sites with the following characteristics are usually strong candidates:

  • Significant annual electricity consumption, generally above 250,000 kWh per year
  • Daytime-dominant demand profile, with peak load between approximately 07:00 and 16:00
  • Available south, east, or west-facing roof area in reasonable structural condition
  • Electricity unit rates above the current market average

 

BATTERY STORAGE

Where a site exports a significant proportion of its solar generation, or where demand shifts outside peak solar hours, battery storage can improve the economics of an installation. We assess whether storage makes sense for your specific load profile and incorporate it into the system design where it does.

Warranties and guarantees

Installation

All installations are completed by MCS-accredited partners. A five-year workmanship warranty covers physical defects.

Inverters

Full ten-year manufacturer warranty as standard. Extended cover available on request.

Panels

Twelve-year manufacturer warranty covering materials and processing. Twenty-five year warranty covering linear power output performance.
