Low Carbon Heating

Reduce heating emissions and costs by replacing gas with efficient electric alternatives

For most UK manufacturers, space heating is a significant energy cost and the largest remaining source of Scope 1 emissions once the vehicle fleet has been electrified. As gas prices remain volatile and direct emissions come under increasing scrutiny, replacing gas-fired heating with low carbon alternatives is becoming both a commercial and compliance priority.

Pro Enviro assesses your heating demand, identifies the most suitable low carbon technology for your site, and manages the specification and installation process. We work with air source heat pumps, infrared radiant heating, and hybrid systems, selecting the right solution for your building type, usage pattern, and budget.

COP = coefficient of performance. An ASHP producing a COP of 3.5 generates 3.5 units of heat for every unit of electricity consumed.

SCOPE 1 TO ZERO

Gas-fired space heating is typically the largest remaining Scope 1 source for manufacturers who have already electrified their fleet. Replacing it with an ASHP or electric radiant system eliminates those emissions entirely - and on a market-based basis where REGO-backed renewable electricity is in place, Scope 2 is eliminated too.

The case for acting now

Indicative figures based on publicly available wholesale price data. Forecast is illustrative.

What we do

Heating demand assessment

Review of current system, building fabric, insulation, and peak load to determine the right technology and sizing.

Technology recommendation

Comparative analysis of ASHP, infrared, and hybrid options with costs, savings, and payback for each.

System design and specification

Fitting specification, lux level calculations to CIBSE standards, and layout drawings.

Contractor management

Installation managed through accredited partners with project oversight and commissioning support.

Performance monitoring

Post-installation monitoring via SEE Change or sub-metering to verify savings.

Grant funding identification

Assessment of available funding support to offset capital costs.

Why act now

Gas Prices

Gas prices are structurally higher than pre-2021 levels and likely to remain volatile.

Scope 1 Reduction

Every unit of gas burned generates Scope 1 emissions - switching to electric eliminates this entirely.

Renewable Energy Benefits

Electrification aligns heating with REGO-backed renewable electricity, improving the carbon position further.

Heat Pump

Heat pump installations can be included in ESOS action plans and SECR reporting
