Net-Zero and Carbon Reduction Strategies
We help businesses develop credible net-zero strategies with clear targets and measurable outcomes.
Why a net-zero strategy matters now
The UK government has committed to a 68% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and 78% by 2035. For businesses, that means regulatory pressure is increasing, supply chain expectations are tightening, and the cost of inaction is rising.
Beyond compliance, a well-structured net-zero strategy helps organisations identify cost reduction opportunities, strengthen relationships with customers and investors, and build resilience against future carbon pricing and reporting obligations.
Science-Based Targets
Where appropriate, Pro Enviro can help you develop targets aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), providing formal validation of your commitments and giving stakeholders independent confidence in your trajectory.
How it works
We use a combination of on-site assessment, metering, and specialist diagnostic tools to build a detailed picture of your emissions across all scopes, then work with you to develop a strategy that is specific to your organisation, operations, and timeline.
Site energy review
Our consultants conduct a thorough review of your site operations, identifying energy use and emissions sources across buildings, processes, and infrastructure.
Macro and micro metering
We meter energy-intensive equipment at site and process level to build an accurate, granular baseline of consumption and associated emissions.
Carbon diagnostics
Using our Enviro Track and CFAR platforms, we assess energy, carbon, and GHG emissions across your entire value chain, including Scope 3 supply chain emissions.
Scope 3 engagement
We work with you and your supply chain partners to identify and reduce indirect emissions, supporting a whole-value-chain approach to decarbonisation.
SECR reporting
Where required, we develop your Streamlined Energy and Carbon Report, ensuring compliance and providing a structured foundation for ongoing reduction planning.
Energy management systems
Where appropriate, we implement ISO 50001 energy management systems to embed ongoing improvement and provide a robust governance framework for your strategy.
The four steps to net zero
Our process follows a structured four-stage approach, from establishing your current position through to ongoing tracking and reporting.
We review your existing operations to define organisational boundaries and establish responsibility for Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions across your infrastructure.
| Scope 1 | Scope 2 | Scope 3 |
| Direct emissions from owned or controlled sources, such as combustion in boilers and furnaces. | Indirect emissions from purchased electricity, heat, or steam consumed by the organisation. | All other indirect emissions across the value chain, including supply chain, logistics, and product use. |
We calculate a greenhouse gas footprint and work with you to set a realistic baseline, using available source data to determine appropriate methodologies for each emissions category.
We work with you to set targets that are appropriate and achievable, taking into account your business objectives and any sustainability commitments. Where required, targets can be aligned with SBTi for formal external validation.
We provide regular GHG reporting against your targets, conduct annual scope reviews, and deliver project reviews on initiatives implemented from the Carbon Reduction Strategy.
